Hogwarts Day at Apothecary Suil Crow This October we invite all young wizards to enjoy a day at our Mystical Boutique to enjoy a day of incantations and crafts while dressed in your favorite Hogwarts garb! This is for children of all ages! Each child will receive material to create the following items:
(1) Nimbus Flying Broom
Children with assistance of parent will make a flying broom using broom corn stock, wooden pole and twine.
(2) Expecto Patronum Charm Bottle
Children with assistance from parent will make the Patronus charm in a bottle sealed with wax. This spell conjures a Patronus, which is a protector, to ward off Dementors and other dark creatures. Each witch or wizard's Patronus has a unique form that is often associated with their personality and memories. It’s a complicated spell to learn, and symbolises how light and happiness can win against darkness. Expecto Patronum is prominently featured throughout the Harry Potter series, starting with Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Harry learns to cast the Patronus charm to protect himself and others from Dementors. Over the course of the series, he discovers that his Patronus is a stag, which symbolizes his father, James.
(3) Making a Honeydukes Chocolate Frog
Children with assistance from parent will melt chocolate and pour into frog molds to creat their own chocolate frogs! While the frog is cooling they will have their picture taken to create their own Azkaban wanted poster that they will receive at the end of the day.
In Harry Potter, the chocolate frog is a solid milk chocolate frog-shaped confection that comes in a decorated box with a wizard card. The cards often feature 3D movement and biographical information on the back. For example, the Albus Dumbledore chocolate frog card lists some of his accomplishments, such as his duel with Gellert Grindelwald and his discovery of dragon's blood.
Each child must be accompanied by one adult. Because of this each seat purchased is one child and one parent (2 for the price of one). Costumes are encouraged! Only 8 children are available to attend so please book today!
If it rains of the date scheduled it will be on the next day Sunday October 20th.
