A hobbit meal themed 50K!Route TBD
$5 fee to help cover extra snacks, water, and gas. Cash or venmo @karri-iten
This is based on the idea of hobbit meal times, so stop themes will be as follows:
1st stop: Breakfast
2nd stop: Second Breakfast
3rd stop: Elevenses (typically includes tea or coffee and biscuits)
4th stop: Luncheon
5th stop: Afternoon Tea
6th stop: Dinner
7th stop: Supper
THE BASICS (for those new to this):
1. DROP IN/DROP OUT
This is a choose your own adventure run! If you don't want to do the whole thing, that's fine. You can run 1 leg, choose a few to hit your mileage goal for the day, or run the whole thing!
If you don't want to run a lot, can you drive?! If we have at least 2 drivers, this goes much smoother.
2. NO DROP
We wait for EVERYONE before we head on to the next stop. Faster runners will have longer times at each stop. I'm hoping to keep stops to <20 minutes from the last arrival.
3. NUTRITION/HYDRATION
We will have water available in the cars (pending driver situation). PLEASE bring nutrition/electrolytes/water. I STRONGLY recommend wearing a pack, waist belt, or handheld depending on your distance goals. It's a long day & not fueling properly will get you into trouble. Obviously, there will be food along the route, but we're trying to make these quicker stops
4. DIRECTIONS
GPX route will be posted once finalized. I STRONGLY recommend you download the route to your watch.
5. FUN
This is a fun day with other runners, not a race. Make the most of it. Get to know someone new by running a leg with them. Take photos. Enjoy it! Look after your fellow runners.
6. DRIVERS
This whole thing becomes a self supported run if I don't have people to drive. If you can drive some (or all) of the route, please let me know!
BONUS: If you drive 2 or more legs, you don't have to pay the $5 fee!
7. BIKERS
I know some of you don't want to run it. If you want to bike the route, feel free to join us along the way.
