HMU Academy: Make Your Own Collar

About the Class

In this class we’ll be learning some leather craft basics to create our own high quality, totally custom collars. From the color to the clasps and embellishments, you get to decide how it’s going to look and feel, to make an accessory that’s totally unique to you.
Attendees will learn why certain collars fare softer or easier to move in, how shapes and thickness can impact the final look, how to select desired leather, measure and cut their desired length and shape, and combine it with your choice of hardware colors and sticking it all together to create a functional and beautiful collar that will last for years to come.
All supplies provided, each ticket includes leather, hardware, and use of the necessary tools. Each attendee will take home their own finished collar at the end of class!

Price Transparency

The full fee for this workshop is $50. The full fee reflects the true costs of running the event, including supplies and compensating facilitators for their labor. If you are able to afford a full price ticket without experiencing financial hardship, please choose this option.

You only need yourself! All tools and materials are included in the price of the class! If you have materials you would like to incorporate into your collar please reach out to confirm they will work.

FAQ: what should I wear?

Wear what makes you feel good. Casual clothes, jeans, pajamas, a chicken costume, it’s all fine. No nudity please.

FAQ: any skill pre-requisites? (i.e., is this for beginners, advanced, everyone?)

It is a good idea to know how to cut a straight line with a pair of scissors, but ultimately not required. No prior leatherworking experience needed.

FAQ: can I attend solo, or do I need to come with a partner?

All gender identities and relationship types (singles, solo poly, couples, polycules, and more) are welcome. You can come solo, but if you want to bring a partner, you can work together to create a matching pair - each person needs their own ticket.
