Join us on Saturday, September 28th at 2pm in our Community Room as we welcome back Surcari for a live concert in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month! Registration is appreciated, though walk-in attendees are welcome as space allows; to RSVP, please either stop in or call us at 203-468-3890. This special concert is sponsored by Connecticut Humanities. Founded in 1974, Connecticut Humanities (CTH) is an independent, non-profit affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.A Trio from Surcari (a combination of two words: Suramérica & Caribbean), an award-winning performance group originally from Chile, Venezuela, and Puerto Rico, will perform songs to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. National Hispanic Heritage Month is annually celebrated from September 15 to October 15 in the United States for recognizing the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States.
The group will bring instruments for children to play during the performance as well! Families are invited to come to the library to enjoy the concert!
