About this Event
The Royal Navy always had a presence in the Cape Fear River and was involved in numerous key events. But during the 1776 Southern Expedition, the Royal Navy ruled the waters. This program will be a deep-dive discussion about the operations of the Royal Navy in the Cape Fear and its impact on the prosecution of the inhabitants in the lower Cape Fear.
The focus will be Royal Navy operations from the burning of Fort Johnston in July 1775 to the Battle of Fort George on Bald Head in September 1776
We recommend that if you'd like to eat, please do so before or after the presentation, as eating during it can be distracting for other guests.
