About this Event
We have joined forces with Guildford Museum Heritage Service to run this course which has been popular with history enthusiasts for many years.
Classes will be held on Thursday mornings from 10 am to 12:30 pm starting on 8 January 2026 with breaks for Half Term and Easter. There will be 13 classes with the final class on 23 April 2026. See the Agenda below for the full programme of dates and topics.
The classes are based on the course created by Matthew Alexander, former Curator of Guildford Museum. A set of Matthew's notes is included in the course.
The classroom lectures will normally be followed by a visit to a historic location or building in the town centre. As a result, the sessions may take up to two and a half hours as a whole.
The Cathedral session will take place at the Cathedral, not at the Museum.
Access to the classroom at the Museum requires climbing stairs with a handrail to reach the first floor.
