Have you ever wondered who lived on the land that now makes up Allerton Park prior to the Allerton family? Learn more about the prehistory and early history of the area at a special, increased capacity History Happy Hour: Before the Allertons on Thursday, March 6 from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Mansion Library. University of Illinois archaeologist Brian Adams will speak about the Native Americans and early settlers who lived on the land that is now Allerton and highlight the sites of archaeological significance within the Park’s borders, including pre-contact burial mounds and the Frontier Cemeteries.
A cash bar will be available.
