In 1858, Jose Maria Redondo left Altar, Mexico, in search of gold but discovered opportunity in the fertile land between the Gila and Colorado Rivers. Presented by his great-great grandson, this talk tells how Redondo dug 27 miles of irrigation ditches by hand and built 2,000 acres of farmland that helped sustain a growing Yuma.
