Join us for the latest installment in the Henry Ward Beecher Lecture Series at Plymouth Church, hosted by the Church's History Ministry.
In this free lecture, open to the public, historian Dr. Jonathan Daniel Wells will discuss the history of slavery's supporters in New York City before the Civil War, and the resistance against them -- the subject of his 2020 book The Kidnapping Club: Wall Street, Slavery, and Resistance on the Eve of the Civil War . The lecture will be followed by audience Q&A with Dr. Wells.
This lecture is free and open to the public.
