Heads-up for some insights on how to look at and look after Aberdeen's built heritage.
About this Event

Aberdeen has a fascinating and architecturally rich city centre. Find out more about how the city centre developed in the C19th and how we best look after this important legacy.

A guided walk over 90 minutes will provide an opportunity to consider key features of the city, the form and construction of traditional buildings and look at maintenance issues which, if caught early, can help optimise energy efficiency and avoid substantial repair costs down the line.

The tour starts at the Mannie Fountain in Castle Street outside the High Court building at the top of Marischal Street and will finish at St Andrews Cathedral in King Street. It will be led by Craig Wilson, Building Surveying lecturer at Scott Sutherland School of Architecture and Built Environment, Robert Gordon University and Douglas Campbell, both representing Aberdeen City Heritage Trust.

The walk of about one mile will take place over paved surfaces in Aberdeen City Centre, some of which may be uneven. 20 places are available.

P lease dress weather appropriately.

The Trust is grateful for the support of Aberdeen Solicitors Property Centre in delivering this event.

Aberdeen City Heritage Trust is supported by Historic Environment Scotland and Aberdeen City Council.
