Historical Society of University City Annual Meeting & DinnerOctober 8 6:30 p.m. at the University City Library.
Join the Historical Society of University City for dinner and an engaging conversation about celebrated German artist Max Beckmann’s life and work as a U. City resident in the 1940s. Beckmann taught at Washington University from 1947-1949—and our own St. Louis Art Museum is home to the world’s largest collection of Beckmann’s paintings and prints.
Melissa Venator, Andrew W. Mellon Foundation assistant curator of modern art at SLAM, will present.
Dinner will be catered by the Pasta House. Wine will be available for a donation. The event will be held in the second floor auditorium at the library, accessible by elevator or stairs.
Tickets are $35 for members and $42.50 for non-members.
