Emmanuel Nicolás Kahan, PhD in History (National University of La Plata) is a researcher at Argentina’s National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET). He is a Professor in the Department of History at the School of Humanities and Educational Sciences (National University of La Plata) and has taught postgraduate courses at various institutions both in Argentina and abroad. He coordinates the Jewish Studies Group at the Institute of Economic and Social Development (NEJ-IDES) and was the Program Director of Memory, Recent History, and Human Rights at CLACSO. Professor Kahan has published several books and articles on Jewish life in Argentina, the impact of the Arab Israeli conflict in the country, and Holocaust memory. He is a visiting researcher at the Shoah Foundation (University of Southern California), a fellow at the Ibero-Amerikanisches Institut (Berlin), and has been a visiting professor at the Universities of Ottawa (Canada) and Francisco José de Caldas (Colombia). In 2013, he received the Best Dissertation Award from the Latin American Jewish Studies Association (LAJSA), and in 2015, the Scientific Work Award from the National University of La Plata.
