
The Georgia Historical Society will hold a dedication for a new historical marker: Rev. Dr. William Jefferson White Sr. (1831-1913): “The Georgia Baptist Man.” The marker is being erected in partnership with the Lucy Craft Laney Museum of Black History the USC Center for Civil Rights History and Research and Augusta University’s History Anthropology and Philosophy Department. The dedication will take place on Thursday May 8 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Harmony Baptist Church 930 Hopkins Street in Augusta Georgia. The event is open to the public and the media.
