The Doctoral School of Historical Performance Practices and Musical Instruments Making of the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań and the Museum of Instruments of the National Museum in Poznań would like to invite you to participate in the 1st International Conference of Makers and Restorers of Musical Instruments "Historical Instruments", which will take place in Poznań on 9-10 May 2024.The event will be held in a stationary format at the premises of the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music and the Museum of Instruments in Poznan.
The subject of this year's conference is: Renovation vs. Reconstruction.
We would like to invite builders and restorers of musical instruments, instrumentologists and other people professionally related to the issues of the Conference, who would like to share their research and reflections on a wide range of issues concerning historical musical instruments, their conservation and construction. We also invite students of music and art colleges related to the conference theme to present their research in the form of a paper or poster.
