Two young people, Cleo Patra Brown and Samuel Sanford Cooper. Cleo was born in Kennedale, Texas, on July 3, 1883, to Benjamin Franklin Brown and Cleo Patra Todd Brown, who came to Kennedale in 1883 from Cottage Grove, Tennessee. Samuel was born in Hill County, Texas, on September 1, 1882, to William Cooper and Malinda Weaver Baty Dyer Cooper. Malinda’s family were some of the first settlers of Texas. His father, William Cooper, has mystery surrounding his arrival to Texas. The Coopers and Browns were some of the city's first residents, and it is an honor to present the influence they had on Kennedale, Texas.
