Learn the lively dances of the 1700's & 1800's in a fun casual class. No partner or prior dance experience needed. Historical Dance Class is open to all ages (If children intend to dance they need to be able to keep up.) and just wear casual clothes, flat comfortable shoes. WHEN?
Classes are held most 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month, 8:00 - 9:30pm.
WHERE?
Classes are at South Jordan Community Center,
10778 S Redwood Road, South Jordan, Utah 84095.
WORTH?
Classes are FREE to the public.
WEAR?
No special clothes are needed for the classes. Just wear your modern casual clothes and some comfortable flat shoes. We only dress up for our balls and galas.
WHAT?
You need not have any previous dance experience. If you can walk, count and turn about, you can dance historical dances. Historical dances are group dances, so you aren't left alone on the dance floor. We teach each dance before the music is played and prompts your steps while you are dancing to the music.
WHO?
There is no age limit. If children intend to dance they need to be able to keep up. Some dances move quickly and change partners. You do not need to have a partner to attend class.
WHY?
Why not?? These dances will get your blood pumping, forehead glistening, heart full of joy and your belly laughing with glee! In a world that has forgotten their manners it's wonderful to have some old fashioned fun acting like ladies and gentlemen.
