Join Capitol Park Museum on our tour of the Historic Spanish Town neighborhood. Founded by Spanish Canary Island settlers in 1805, Spanish Town is Baton Rouge’s oldest neighborhood. Hear history brought to life! You will see architectural styles from 1820 to an Art Deco bungalow. The majority if the extant historical structures date from 1880 – 1930 during the Louisiana State University period of the neighborhood’s history.
Space is limited and registration is required. Patrons are advised to dress comfortably, bring water, and wear a hat. $20 General ticket, free for members, funds support ongoing programs with the Friends of the Cabildo. Includes entrance to Capitol Park Museums over 20,000 square feet of exhibitions.
