Can you believe Historic Rugby's 2025 season is less than a month away?! We'll celebrate our opening weekend with our annual IRISH ROAD BOWLING TOURNAMENT and guided hike -- This is one of our most popular events of the year, and anyone can participate!Opening weekend activities begin Friday, March 14th,
with early registration and a pre-tournament social at 5:00 PM Eastern on the Harrow Road Public House lawn (formerly the café). Enjoy snacks, drinks, and a chance to mingle with fellow participants. We will offer demo classes and practice opportunities for you to hone your skills.
From 6:00 PM—9:00 PM Eastern on Friday night, we'll have hourly shuttle services to and from Sawbriar Brewery available for craft brews, pizza, and wings. Pickup and drop-off will be on the Harrow Road Public House lawn.
Then on SATURDAY, get ready for a full day of festivities! It will all take place from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm Eastern, and St. Patrick's Day attire is encouraged!
Two guided hikes will leave from the Visitor Centre at 10 a.m. Eastern on Saturday morning (no registration is required). One will be led by Jackie Broeker with early spring wildflowers in evidence, the other by Stephen McClure along our bluffs. Both guides are avid hikers and know our natural areas about as well as anyone around.
Sign-in for the Irish Road Bowling tournament is from 12pm-12:30 Eastern at the new Harrow Road Public House, site of the former Harrow Road Cafe. Tours of the historic buildings will be offered. Join in the fun and bring the family!
Tournament Highlights:
Demos & Practice: 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM on the lawn of the newly built Harrow Road Public House
Registration: 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM (Harrow Road Public House lawn) – Register your team of 2,3, or 4 (if you haven't already done so) and pick up t-shirts, scorecards, and cannon balls.
Tournament Kickoff: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at the Clear Fork Area Volunteer Fire Dept.
Awards Ceremony: 4:00 PM, on the lawn of the Harrow Road Public House
Tours of our historic buildings and Print Shop will also be offered throughout the day and our Commissary (filled with local arts and crafts) and art gallery will be open!
Food and drinks will be available from the Canteen & Cottage Catering food truck, the Clear Fork Volunteer Fire Department grills, and MoCo Brewing Project.
We'll also have live music throughout the day!
