Come to Posen for the Potato Festival and take a stroll through more than 150 years of Grist Mill History preserved right here in Northeast Michigan. The best way to appreciate how the early settlers in the area survived, is to see how much of the food they needed to survive was made for many years. The Mill is a unique time capsule where you can see the evolution of grist milling technology and the building that made it all possible. Standing three stories tall, the Mill has survived for more than a century of Northern Michigan winters, giving us a glimpse into the past.
Each year we see people who have "driven past" the mill their whole lives and never set foot inside, then come out for this tour, and say "I never knew there was so much inside the Mill". If this is you, here's your chance for to see where your Grandparents would have got their flour for baking and grain feed stock for their livestock animals.
