About this Event
On September 23, 1780, British Major John André was captured in Westchester County on his way back from a treasonous meeting with American General Benedict Arnold. In honor of that history, join us in the beautiful and air-conditioned Gothic Chamber for “The Scarlet Coat,” a 1955 film based on the Arnold-André events. This rare Cinemascope film follows American officer John Bolton (fictional) as he goes undercover in an attempt to uncover a traitor. Along the way he meets British Major John André as they secretly spy for opposing sides while a friendship and rivalry grows between them.
This program is free and open to the public.
