Join us for our Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration and Big Read Kick Off! 🎉 We will launch our National Endowment for the Arts Big Read program exploring Hustle by David Tomas Martinez with a Hispanic Heritage Month Kick Off celebration. The NEA Big Read in Newburgh is presented in partnership with the Newburgh Enlarged City School District, with support from the National Endowment for the Arts.The kick-off event, presented in partnership with Latinos Unidos, will feature a performance from Unidos Latin Jazz, Zumba and socacize classes, a poetry reading by Daniel Villegas, Empanada o Nada and Antojitos on Wheels food trucks, community organizations such as Catholic Charities and Literacy Connections, a Big Read Proclamation from Newburgh Mayor Torrance Harvey, and more.
Unido's Latin Jazz will feature band members Al Muller, Kim Peralta, Beverly Poyerd, and Alfonso (Ray) Ramos.

¡Le invitamos a celebrar del Mes de la Herencia Hispana y junto con nosotros lanzar el programa de National Big Read auspiciado por el National Endowment for the Arts, Dotación Nacional para las Artes, en la cual hacemos un homenaje a la poesía David Tomás Martínez y su exitoso libro, Hustle! Este evento se realiza con la colaboración del distrito escolar de Newburgh, Unidos Latinos y con el apoyo de la Dotación Nacional para las Artes.
Celebramos con música en vivo: Unidos Latín Jazz, clases de Zumba y socacize, una lectura de poesía de Daniel Villegas, camiones de comida Empanada o Nada y Antojitos on Wheels, organizaciones comunitarias como Catholic Charities y Literacy Connections, una Proclamación de la Gran Lectura del alcalde de Newburgh, Torrance Harvey, y mucho más.
