Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with us at the Water Street Plaza Amphitheater for an evening of film and culture.Presented in partnership with the Mexican Consulado in Las Vegas, this free event features a special screening of Tan cerca de las nubles (So Close to the Clouds), a documentary by Manuel Canibe that brings to light an extraordinary chapter in Mexico’s sports and cultural history. The film recounts the journey of young Mexican women soccer players who, in 1971, filled the Azteca Stadium, the largest stadium in Mexico.
The evening will open with a performance by the Keller Middle School Mariachi, followed by a welcome from the consulate and the film screening. A Q&A session with the director will follow.
The film will be shown on both the Amphitheater and Plaza big screens, so bring your friends, chairs, blankets and snacks for this memorable experience. Light concessions will be available for purchase. All ages are welcome!
