Join Chloe and Omega for their special Saturday workshop series! This Saturday workshop will start with connecting to our movements that are driven from the lower abdomen and hips. Once warmed up, you will be ready to transition into a special workshop focusing on improvisation to taqsim beladi.
SCHEDULE:
“Hips and Belly Technique” with Chloe: 1:30-2:30pm Dive deeper into understanding your hips, undulations, and pelvis when approaching bellydance movements in this workshop. These moves are tricky and nuanced, but once better understood, can feel so fun and satisfying!
“Taqsim Beladi” with Omega: 2:45-3:45pm A perfect compliment to the previous workshop on hips and belly technique, the taqsim beladi will call you to dance from your heart and hips. Also known as balady taqsim, tet beladi, ashra baladi, and baladi progression, this is a beautiful style of Egyptian music, typically accompanied by improvised dancing that focuses on earthy hipwork and simple steps. Once you learn the structure of the music and some basic tips for improvisation, you can tap into your own intuition and enjoy this style of dancing any time at home or on stage.
