Cuban-born Hilario Duran grew up in Havana in a musical family surrounded by various musical influences. After making his mark in Cuba, he continued to develop skills as a pianist, producer, composer, arranger, and musical director of remarkable ability. Having admired Oscar Peterson since he was a child, Hilario will be celebrating the music of Canada’s greatest jazz pianist. The trio will perform Peterson hits such as C Jam Blues, Wheat Land, Bossa Beguine, and Hymn to Freedom. Also included will be selections from Cuban legend Ernesto Lecuona.
