The Mathew Range locally known as Lenkiyio Hills is a splendid wilderness in the North of Kenya in Namunyak Community Conservancy, The magnificent range sprends about 93km with a width of about 40km with Ndoto Mountains to the north, and the flat-topped Ololokwe Mountain to the south.In this magical space are numerous river valleys, springs, and dramatic crags including its highest, the 2688m high Warges Peak to the south, Oldonyo Kimaking at 2375m, and the breast shaped hill known as Sweet Sixteen in the middle.
Within the conservancy which seeks to protect its natural forest, there is rich wildlife that includes Elephants, Buffaloes, Rhinos, among others.
Mathews Range is a secluded beauty and, is home to some endemic plant species in its natural forest, and magnificent rock pools that fill up with crystal clear water in the months following the rainy seasons which you will get a chance to have a dip in as you take in the beauty.
Itinerary
Day 1 Nairobi to Namunyak and explore the Rock Pools around the camp
Day 2: Hike up Kimaking Peak (6-7hours) - restful afternoon/evening
Day3: Optional cultural tour and later start our journey back to Nairobi
What to wear and items to carry;
•Comfortable running shoes or hiking boot
•Gym/Hiking pants (avoid jeans)
•Polyester T-shirt (like the football jerseys)
•Carry an extra change of clothes for after the hike and your journey back home
•Sunglasses
•Hat/cap

•Sunscreen (Arimis oK) and Insect repellant

•Poncho or a light Rain jacket

Cancellation Policy
If you cancel more than 48 hours before your scheduled trip departure, a 50% of the fee will be charged.
If you cancel within 48 hours of your scheduled trip departure, no refund fees will be provided.
No shows are responsible for 100% of trip fees.
