Details: This hilly hike, just minutes from Roseburg, has amazing views of the Umpqua Valley and the surrounding mountains. The 6,500 acre preserve provides multiple hiking options that take hikers through oak groves, open meadows and grass-covered hillsides. This will be a difficult hike of about 7 miles, but shorter routes are available. All trails go uphill, which is the price to pay for those amazing views.Map of hike:

Driving time: 25 minutes
Difficulty level: Challenging to Difficult
Route: To be determined. We are at the mercy of the whims and caprices of hike leader Brad.
Distance: About 7 miles
Pluses: A short drive to the trailhead, great views of the Umpqua Valley, as long as it's fog-free. If it is foggy, then we'll get great views as we hike above the fog cover.
Minuses: It's been rainy, which means boots will more than likely get muddy! All hills go uphill in the North Bank. Poison oak abounds, although it's not an issue if you stay on trail.
For more information call or text Brad at 541-530-7983
On the day of the hike: Meet at 8 am in the Douglas County Courthouse parking lot off of Fowler St., right behind the library building. Bring water, lunch, and appropriate clothing for hiking.
If you are riding with somebody, be prepared to share gas expenses with your driver.
We will follow current official Oregon Covid-19 guidelines, whatever they may be at the time. Please do not attend if you feel sick, are coughing, or have a fever.
The club hikes every other Saturday, rain or shine. Hiking is free, everybody is welcome.
