About the event
The next Colchester Land Trust (CLT) “Discover Colchester” hike will take place on Sunday, December 14th at the Babcock Pond Wildlife Management Area at 10:00 a.m. As a wildlife management area, Babcock provides 1500 acres of forest, swamps and ponds. It contains miles of unmarked hiking trails. The hike is approximately four miles long, mostly on a logging road and open paths. Adults, children and leashed dogs are welcome.
Directions: Rt. 2 Eastbound, take Exit 16 and turn right onto Rt. 149 South. Go approximately 1 mile and take left onto Cato Corner Rd. Follow Cato Corner Rd. to intersection of Cato Corner and Rt. 16. Go straight across onto Standish Road, off Rt. 16. Bear right at first stop sign. Turn right onto Red
School House Rd. Park in the cul-de-sac at the end of Red School House Rd.
Rt. 2 Westbound travelers, take Exit 16, turn left onto Rt. 149 South and follow directions above.

This event will be held rain or shine. This event is free for CLT members and $5 for non-member adults, children under 18 are free. Visit colchesterlandtrust.org for updates on the hike.

The fee for this hike is free to Members of the CLT, $5.00 per Non-member Adult, free for all children under 18.

Trails are not groomed and have rocks and roots and wet areas.
Advanced registration strongly suggested.
Wear appropriate footwear and clothing for the weather and terrain.
Bug and tick protection strongly suggested.
Dogs welcome on leash, bring waste bags to dispose of off property, thank you.
Directions: From Rt 16/Middletown Road in Colchester, turn on Bulkeley Hill Road follow approx. 2 miles to Bulkeley Hill Preserve. The wood sign post and the entrance to the gravel parking lot will be on your right. For GPS use the mailbox across the street from the lot, 243 Bulkeley Hill Road, Colchester.
