Hike & Seek (City Nature Challenge)

Nature is all around us and we need your help to photograph it during the City Nature Challenge!

Join Basin Recreation and Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter staff to learn more about the City Nature Challenge, receive an overview of how to use iNaturalist, and practice identifying local flora & fauna during a family-friendly guided hike.

Attendees should dress appropriately for the outdoors. We suggest long pants, sturdy closed-toe shoes, layers as needed, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and water.

Pre-registration for this event is encouraged. Please download the iNaturalist app prior to the hike.

Info: We will meet under the pavilion at Spring Creek Trail Head. Attendees will receive an overview of City Nature Challenge and how to use iNaturalist. Please download the iNaturalist app to your phone prior to the hike.

Info: We will hike a portion of Blackhawk Trail together. We will make multiple stops to discuss any plants and wildlife we see. Taking photos and uploading them to iNaturalist is highly encouraged!
