The City of Sacramento is inviting people to explore and interact with flood-fighting equipment during its annual Highwater Jamboree event.Attendees will be able to see and touch heavy equipment, such as “the Claw” and other machinery, as well as Police and Fire rescue vehicles.
Staff from local, state and federal agencies will help teach attendees how to prepare for storms and flooding at interactive learning stations.
Pets are welcome at the event, which will also include several food trucks.
The Highwater Jamboree is named after a “high-water mark,” a term that describes the highest known level of a body of water during a flood.
