High Spy was formed in Stoke-on-Trent in 2006 by keyboard player Mark Price. After various line up changes, the classic and most successful lineup was finalised in 2020 when Mark Price (Keys) was joined by Dave Lythgoe (Bass), Tony Hall (Drums), Jeff Henson (Vocals), Richard Pointon (Guitars). Lythgoe also became the band's primary lyricist. Known for a blend of hard rock, progressive rock, and a distinctive sound that has evolved throughout their career. They have recorded and released 6 albums, Human Geometry being their latest one. Achieved numerous sales and critical successes worldwide, appeared on various radio stations, and many publications, runners up in Prog Magazine Video Poll, with the song “Watching”, and the song “Circles & Squares” being voted one of the best prog songs of 2024.
They are also the only original band to play at the Rush Eucon 29 year history. They are currently recording and writing their latest album due for release in 2026. Influenced by bands similar to Rush, Genesis, and Marillion.
They are playing at The Rigger on the 7th of December after a 9 year break.
