The University of Michigan Flint College of Arts, Sciences & Education - Music is pleased to invite your student nominations to our High School Honor Band weekend. This event, which annually attracts over 150 students to our campus, will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025 & Sunday, November 23, 2025. We are seeking your student nominations for participation in the honor band.Membership in the UM Flint Honor Band is by high school director nomination. Each school may nominate up to eight (8) qualified students. Any student currently enrolled in grades 9-12 who is in good standing with their high school band or orchestra may be nominated.
Please submit up to eight students by Friday, November 7, 2025 via our online registration at https://go.umflint.edu/honorband2025 or US Mail by Friday, October 31, 2025.
Important Dates & Times
Saturday, November 22, 2025 8:30-4:00 Rehearsal & Masterclass/Sectionals
Sunday, November 23, 2025 10:00-12:30 Rehearsal
Sunday November 23, 2025 2:30 p.m. Concert
*Please note students are expected to attend all events if nominated for the honor band.
A registration fee of $40.00 per student is due upon arrival on Saturday, November 22, 2025. Payment options include cash and check (made payable to UM-Flint Music).
In addition to their large ensemble participation, students selected for the honor band will have the opportunity to meet and work with UM Flint Instrumental Music Faculty in masterclass and sectional settings. This is also a terrific opportunity for your student(s) to learn about participation in music after high school graduation.
