Meet Horticulturalist and High Plains Arboretum author, Jessica Friis, and Director Scott Aker for a tour of the High Plains Arboretum. We hope to show off some of the wonderful spring-blooming trees and shrubs on the grounds. Friis and Aker will highlight the decades of research that was conducted on the site and we will visit some of the most beautiful trees and shrubs adapted to the High Plains. This tour is $10.00 per person and pre-registration is required.Directions from I-80
Exit at Roundtop Road, and turn right. Cross Happy Jack Road.
Cross rail tracks and look for the "USDA/ARS High Plains Grasslands Research Station" sign on the left.
Enter at the flagstone entry (left side of the road) onto Hildreth Rd.
At the first fork, look for the "High Plains Arboretum" sign to the left and veer in that direction.
Park at parking signs. DO NOT block the road. The Arboretum is only south of this road (to the left).
