A walking tour down Liverpool's 'Heritage Corridor'
Discover some of the lesser known aspects of the city of Liverpool on a three-hour walking tour with Hidden Liverpool’s Chris Cannon
We meet at Dr Duncan's pub on St John's Lane before heading onto St George's Plateau, talk about the history of St George's Hall and then make our way down to the waterfront. On the way, amongst other fascinating snippets of information, you will hear how a child born into poverty in one of the poorest parts of Liverpool rose to be one of the most influential and richest men in the world, view the oldest dwelling that still stands in the city, see one of the most impressive works of Street Art in Europe, view an architect’s hidden sea creature and learn about Liverpool’s not so clandestine actions that connected it to the American Civil War – from the very start of the war to the very last act of it
On our journey, you will hear stories about how the city and its people have changed the world, view some of the most impressive architecture in the country and see things that are hidden in plain sight… if only you know where to look
The walking tour will have a refreshment break if needed either at a coffee shop or local hostelry depending on the tour groups' preference.
There will be no major slopes or steps on the walk, but please wear suitable footwear.
All attendees are responsible for their own safety whilst on the guided walk.
Please note that tickets are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by the organiser due to unforeseen circumstances or extremely inclement weather.
