It is often said that Edinburgh has more statues of animals than it does of women, but did you know that there are many memorials to inspiring women around the city - although you need to know where to find them! Join us on an illustrated trail of women’s history in the city centre. We will consider the individual stories of these remarkable women and why their lives deserve to be celebrated. Linda McDonald is a former teacher and a member of Edinburgh Living History, based in Lauriston Castle. She has in interest in researching women’s history.
All our lecture mornings cost £8 and include a friendly lecture where you can meet our guest lecturer, have coffee and a sweet treat and get a special castle tour. Why not make a day of it at Lauriston and have some lunch at Mimi’s café on-site after your lecture experience?
