About this Event

A Tour Of Her Own is proud to partner with Van Ness Main Street and UDC to present a special outdoor showing of the hit film, Hidden Figures. This film screening is SOLD OUT but TOHO supporters have access to special tickets with limited availability.

Join us for this special TOHO small group outing as we enjoy a film that celebrates the often overlooked contributions of women in STEM. TOHO attendees will also enjoy a special sneak peek reading from our new book, 111 Places In Women's History in Washington, DC That You Must Not Miss that shares how these Hidden Figures are honored in DC today.

* TOHO ticket holders should plan to meet at 7:30 for introductions and the book reading. Look for the TOHO logo in the crowd! Registration required.

Details regarding the film screening:

Van Ness Main Street and the University of the District of Columbia are joining forces this summer to host “Movie Night in the Park @ UDC Amphitheater". Our theme for the summer series is perseverance, and movies will be a family-friendly rating of G, PG, or PG13.

We encourage everyone to bring a picnic - dinner, drinks, or snacks from one of our local eateries to enjoy before or during the film. The amphitheater will be open to begin gathering at 7:30pm and the film will begin at 8:30pm.

About the venue: Nestled in a hillside, the UDC Amphitheater is located in the woods off Yuma Street behind the UDC tennis courts. It is accessible via walking paths from either Yuma Street or Windom Place. We'll have signage placed along the way as well as volunteers directing movie-goers. The venue contains rows of wooden seating with some areas of grass (see photo below). Feel free to bring blankets or cushions to sit on. Please do not bring your own chair as open space is limited. Portions of the front row/area will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis for those using a wheelchair and for those physically unable to access the upper rows.

Weather Policy. In case of inclement weather, the film will be canceled. Check our Facebook page and Twitter for updates: @VanNessMainSt
