About this Event
Join Kuno (Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council; WRWC) and Tonay (Providence Neighborhood Planting Program; PNPP) for a guided nature walk in Neutaconkanut Park to learn about native trees and this important 'remnant forest' ecosystem before our fall planting events.
The event will be an opportunity to study and observe a relatively mature hickory-oak forest that can serve as a reference natural community for our own reforestation efforts on the Woonasquatucket River Greenway. Attendees will also collect hickory nuts and acorns for future plantings and urban forestry efforts.
Part of our Fall 2025 Tree & Shrub Planting Events
Join the Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council (WRWC) this October for a series of community tree and shrub plantings! These plantings help replace lost trees, add vital understory plants, and improve habitat along the Woonasquatucket River Greenway. Volunteers of all ages are welcome — bring friends, neighbors, or your corporate team to help make a difference!
