HI CRIME

Hi Crime is a Seattle-based indie-pop group that began as a recording project between songwriters Brielle Rutledge and Mitch Etter. The duo met in summer 2015 and quickly began work on what would become their first release. The Foreign Hours EP was written, recorded, and mixed entirely in the duo's bedrooms over the fall months while Rutledge finished college, commuting back every few weeks to record. The EP earned attention from KEXP, and other NW media outlets, inspiring the duo to expand to a full band and begin performing live. The expanded lineup provided a burst of new songs and energy, propelling the band into work for their debut full-length album, The Kids Still Got It, released on June 29, 2018. Since the album release, Hi Crime has been growing their audience with regular live performances all over the Northwest, and continued radio play across the US. The single “Waves” was released July 2019. The single “World’s Fair” released October, 2020. The single “Rainy Days & Crooked Sheets” released March, 2021. Expect more new music in 2021.

”In an era dominated by synthesizers, 808s, and trap hi-hats, ‘Rainy Days and Crooked Sheets’ is a bit like time traveling: Each live instrument gets its moment to shine while still being tethered to the center by human sentiments of loneliness and sleeplessness.” - Dan’s Tunes
