Recorded in Prague with four of the city's finest jazz musicians, this collection captures spring's beauty through carefully curated standards from Duke Ellington, Tadd Dameron, Dave Brubeck and more. Songs celebrating new life, renewal, and awakening - from tender songs that echo the first buds of spring, to melodies that capture the dance of spring rain. British-Australian vocalist Hetty Kate brings a pure tone and natural artistry to the jazz tradition. Compared to "a good champagne: simultaneously effervescent and restrained" by the Sydney Morning Herald, Hetty's distinctive approach balances her unwavering respect for the lyric, with spontaneity and wit.
Nurtured in Melbourne's vibrant jazz scene, Hetty's musical journey has since spanned 28 countries, with performances at major international festivals and a significant tenure as the featured vocalist in Australian Jazz Luminary James Morrison's touring bands, including his award-winning symphonic concert "The A to Z of Jazz."
