About this Event
Fraser Coast CommuniTea Set project seeks to reduce social isolation and support community recovery by building community resilience through connections and friendships.
Council will be hosting 10 community-based art workshops across the local government area from November 2024-February 2025.
The Hervey Bay workshop will be hosted at the Halcro St Community Centre in Pialba. We encourage residents from Hervey Bay suburbs and surrounding localities - including (but not limited to), River Heads, Booral, Sunshine Acres and other areas to attend this workshop. All Fraser Coast residents are welcome.
The art work from the workshops will be used to create a CommuniTea Set that represents the uniqueness of Fraser Coast communities - visually telling the story of the Fraser Coast.
The pieces of the tea set will be like a community puzzle that fits together to be a symbol of the Fraser Coast.
The workshops will not only create art work to build the tea set they will support community members to connect with each other – creating friendships and meeting neighbours - and ultimately building community connections.
It is said by many that no matter the issues, a cup of tea can solve anything.
The workshops will include a high tea for participants to chat, connect and come together.
