About this Event
Join us for the opening of our brand new addition to our history gallery: HERstory. A celebration of the important women of Santa Cruz County—past, present, and future.
On November 21, 2025, the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History (the MAH), is opening a new exhibition on Women's History, highlighting the important contributions that women and female-identifying individuals have made globally and locally. From Yaquenonsat to Angela Davis, Santa Cruz has always been a hotbed of women's activism.
From November 21-November 24, 2025, the MAH will amplify the voices of these individuals, while offering museum visitors their own opportunity to take a stand in the form of protest signs, which will be on temporary display. With a simple prompt..."I STAND FOR...", museum audiences will be encouraged to participate in creative resistance as part of the nationwide "Fall of Freedom" artistic demonstrations.
#FallOfFreedom is here.
This November 21–22, artists and cultural spaces across the country will unite in defiance of censorship and in celebration of creative freedom.
