Herschel Hoover Abstract (DC) is the brain bastard of Herschel Hoover, a classically trained pianist and staple of the DC experimental scene. He co-founded taylorshit.net, best known for playing at the International Noise Conference in Miami and producing three well-reviewed albums during the pandemic. Joined by an ever-rotating cast of collaborators and noisemakers, HHA blends sounds from drone to noise to classical music to psych rock that will leave the listener simultaneously exasperated, yet exhilarated
$2 Romance is the current project of Baltimore native Alex Strama. It is a blend of Noise, Psychedelic, Experimental, and Performance Art. Created using contact mics, guitar, voice, micro cassette, Casio SK-1, and amplifiers. Live sets are sometimes interactive, usually chaotic, and always CHEAP and RECKLE$$
Joshua Marquez is a Philadelphia-based Filipino-American composer, improviser, and sound artist whose music explores the liminal space between tone/noise and digital/analog as a means to investigate the complexities and duality of Asian American identity in search of connection during a diaspora. Joshua’s music is described as “upsetting and calming in equal measure” with atmospheres that “sink into your skin” (Prism Reviews).
