Safe Harbor Easton is hosting our first Heroes & Hope Recovery walk on August 31! An expanded version of our former annual Police Support Recovery Walk, the Heroes & Hope Recovery Walk will continue the tradition of bringing as many recovery-minded community members and organizations together as possible.This walk is a community-building awareness event. We aim to bring the community together to highlight to the issues of substance use and overdose in our communities - while connecting local first responders, families affected by substance use, individuals in recovery, and recovery-focused community organizations.
Registration will be at Safe Harbor at 9am. Light breakfast and coffee will be available at no cost, as well as sign-making materials. Walk T-Shirts will be available for a suggested donation of $10. At 10am we will begin walking to the Free Bridge, passing through the Center Circle on the way. Once on the Free Bridge, we will hold a brief remembrance ceremony for those who have been lost to overdose. Following the ceremony, we will proceed to Riverside Park for music and the presentation of some awards, a (free) light picnic-style lunch, and a recovery-focused vendor fair. The Easton Public Market will be in full swing just a minute's walk away for those interested in browsing local offerings following the walk.
Local recovery groups. treatment programs, law enforcement and other first responder departments, and community organizations are invited to set up a table in Riverside Park. Registration is free, bring your own tables/chairs/popups. Setup is 8am. We will have a representative on-site to keep an eye on the tabling site if you would like to set up and then go walk.
