Tuesday 25th February, 1.30pm to 4.30pmhttps://www.ercultureandleisure.org/events/house-history-for-beginners-2/
This course takes place in Eastwood House.
Houses have fascinating histories too! The social side of our ancestors can often be just as interesting as the individuals themselves. Buildings have a history all of their own, which exposes the lives of the people who lived there over time. This half-day course led by experienced genealogist, Lorna Kinnaird, PGDip, FSAScot, QG, ASGRA, will get you started on carrying out a house history in Scotland and will get you accessing some pretty amazing records. The course will cover:
Identifying key features of dating buildings
Identifying sources for buildings
Accessing documents for buildings
Linking key sources with vital record sources
No previous experience is needed.
Can be booked separately or alongside the Family History for Beginners Course to create a full day experience.
