St Michael's Church Heritage Open Day takes place on Saturday 13th September between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Our historic Church has taken part in this national festival of history for many years and we welcomed a good number of people who had the opportunity to have a tour around our Grade II* listed building and grounds. There is a special World War Two theme to this year's Open Day to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the ending of this dreadful conflict. The activities on the day included:
- Parish registers from the 1930s onwards.
- Walk round our ancient church yard.
- Climb the spiral staircase to the ringing room.
- Timeline and children’s quiz
- Old photographs and maps of Flixton
- Various historic displays
- Refreshments available all day
