About this Event

Get creative this June and immerse yourself in the relaxing and beautiful art of modern calligraphy.

About this workshop
With guidance from your tutor you will learn how to create stunning calligraphy using a pointed pen. From creating letterforms to writing phrases, you'll apply the techniques you have learnt to create hand lettered A5 print.
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners, you don't need to have good handwriting or be artistic for this workshop. Suitable for both left and right handers.
All tools and a step-by-step workbook are included in the price which are yours to take home with you.
There is limited availability to ensure you get as much one-to-one guidance as possible during the workshop.

For inspiration, there will be the opportunity to take a look and appreciate the penmanship in historic documents relating to the Torry Battery.

About the artist:

Aberdeenshire-based calligrapher, Donia, has been honing her skills in the craft since 2020. Originally an experienced graphic designer, during lockdown she longed to unwind from the digital world - while also channelling her creativity. Putting pen to paper, she found the perfect pursuit - as well as her new passion: calligraphy.

Now she is sharing her love of the artform with those around her. Donia hopes to inspire people in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire to take up the art of calligraphy, and discover all of the amazing benefits it has to offer.
