“The Accidental Historian”Ed Cory, is the author/editor of the 2nd Edition of Chords from the Harp, revised and expanded from Fr Brian Maher’s 1986 original: a history of the Bungendore district, its pioneer families and the establishment and growth of the Catholic parish of St Mary’s. Ed started to do a reprint, ‘with a small update’. Too late he realised just how steep and slippery a slope he was committed to!
The first part will be a talk in the hall about the background to the book, some of the issues and crucial decisions involved, difficulties and turning points in the writing. After a Q&A and refreshments, we will adjourn to the adjacent church to discuss its features and relate them to the book.
