Heritage Day: Our goal for the Heritage Day is to honor the rich and diverse cultural tapestry of Latin American countries while promoting unity, pride, and understanding within our community. Through a series of engaging activities and educational initiatives, we aspire to:
1. Celebrate Diversity: setting a stand with our traditions, music, dance, and cuisine of Latin American countries, highlighting a photo set for memorizing richness and diversity of our collective heritage.
2. Educate and empower: Provide opportunities for learning about the history, contributions, and challenges faced by Latin American communities, empowering individuals to take pride in their heritage and identity. We will create 5 set-stations representing Mexico, Colombia, El Salvador, Chile & Dominican Republic.
2.1 Mexico station. A representation of the Culture, language, gastronomy and music, where people will have the challenge to make a real tortilla 🌽
2.2 Colombia Station. A representation of the Culture, language, gastronomy and music, where people will have the challenge to play yo-yo 🪀 or trompo.
2.3 El Salvador Station. A representation of the Culture, language, gastronomy and music, where people will have the challenge to play the capirucho, a traditional game.
2.4 Ecuador station. A representation of the Culture, language, gastronomy and music, where people will have the challenge to play or make———
2.5 Dominican Republic station. A representation of the Culture, language, gastronomy and music, where people will have the challenge to play a traditional game.
Through these goals, we aim to create a Latin Heritage Day celebration that not only commemorates the past but also inspires a shared commitment to embracing and celebrating our cultural identity, fostering unity, and building a brighter future for generations to come.
