About this Event

Join us on Wednesday, April 2 from 6-8pm at the Running Rebels (1300A West Fond Du Lac Ave) to kick off the fifth and final production of our 50th anniversary season: Pulitzer Prize-winning modern classic TOPDOG/UNDERDOG by Suzan-Lori Parks, directed by Gavin Dillon Lawrence.

Here2Play sets the stage for meaningful conversations and deep impact by highlighting the work of each production's community partner organizations and contextualizing each play's themes in Milwaukee. Special sneak peek, here-it-first readings from the play bookend a lively and informative panel discussion on the play’s themes from local leaders. And as always, there will be snacks! Don’t miss your chance for a special attendees-only limited time discount for tickets to the show!

MCT is proud to partner on TOPDOG/UNDERDOG with Community Partners America's Black Holocaust Museum, Milwaukee Public Schools Department of Black and Latino Male Achievement, CopyWrite Magazine, and Running Rebels.

Free and open to the community! RSVP HIGHLY ENCOURAGED!

Location: Running Rebels, 1300A West Fond Du Lac Ave

About our Host:

Running Rebels uses basketball as the tool to engage, mentor, and guide youth towards paths that ensure their future success. Since 1980, Running Rebels has used basketball as the tool to engage, mentor, and guide youth towards paths that ensure their future success, as a response to founder Victor Barnett's experience seeing many young people of Milwaukee being pulled into the street life of gangs, crime, and violence. Running Rebels engages the community, youth, and their families; prevents involvement in gangs, drugs, violence, and the juvenile justice system; intervenes and guides youth by assisting them with making positive choices; and coaches youth through their transition into adulthood. Today, Running Rebels is a mentoring organization that serves 1,500 youth annually.
