Hercules Inc. Superfund Site - TANA Meeting

On December 20, 2022, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency added the Hercules Inc. Site, a former chemical manufacturer in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, to the Superfund program’s National Priority List (NPL). Since the Site’s listing, EPA has been working with the community to identify and address concerns about the Site’s status and cleanup. In Fall 2025, EPA will conduct a Technical Assistance Needs Assessment (TANA) through EPA’s Technical Assistance Services for Communities (TASC) program for the community near the Hercules Inc. Superfund Site. The TANA will continue engagement efforts and identify the most effective ways to provide site-related technical information.

UPCOMING TANA MEETING

You are invited to attend one of two sessions to learn about the TANA process and how you can get involved. Each session includes a formal presentation followed by an informal open house.

HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED

Attend the meeting on September 16, 2025 to learn about the TANA process. Participating in the TANA process would include talking with an independent EPA TASC contractor either in person or virtually and providing your perspective on technical assistance needs and community engagement for the Hercules Inc. site.
