An herbarium is a biorepository of dried, preserved plant specimens for scientific study. The University of Manitoba Herbarium houses the largest collection of plants and lichens in Manitoba, with over 100,000 specimens. Artists will gain access to the collection, view specimens beneath microscopes, and capture images with a microscope camera. Projects resulting from the workshop (any media welcome) will be shown in a group exhibit at the Assiniboine Park Pavilion Community Gallery, from early June to August 2025.
Artwork by Natalie Baird and Toby Gilles, as shown in Dry Media VI exhibit at Maison Des Artistes, Winnipeg.
